Recently I have decided to trim down my online presence since most of the my social media has devolved into mindless consumption. I “deactivated” my twitter but still skim for news and memes, but I do not post. Instagram has become my primary messaging service along with vacation recaps and bi-monthly “digest” that barely cover what I have been up to. Facebook I only keep to trade shifts at my second job that I rarely make appearances at. In spite of all of this I still want to create and while I can talk at great length about specific topics I haven’t taken the time to write out the thoughts that warrant a bit more time to sit and stew in. To remedy that I made a Substack.

“Enjoyment while performing was rare—enjoyment would have been an indulgent loss of focus that comedy cannot afford. After the shows, however, I experienced long hours of elation or misery depending on how the show went, because doing comedy alone onstage is the ego’s last stand.” - Steve Martin, Born Standing Up

This quote tumbles in my mind when I think about how much time I have spent trying to be creative and how many creative acts involve toiling away behind closed doors only to kick it out into the world in the hopes that someone will understand your intent. Rushing to finish so you do not overwork an idea. These post are my attempt to slow down and refine the work before releasing.

My name is Marco Bongiorno, you may have heard about me through the Pizza Planet Truck project. This site is going to be home for any writing I do moving forward, where I can showcase the my other interests. I hope you enjoy.

The majority of the write-ups will be free, however once I get things going I will provide audio versions with a paid subscription.
